Events and Actions for the Week of April 13th

There is a lot going on this week, so please read everything; you won't want to miss anything, including TWO candidate forums in Rockland County on April 22nd and 23rd. The primaries are just around the corner, and these will be some of your last chances to hear directly from the candidates before you vote.

NY4ALL Update!

A few weeks ago, at the No Kings rally, Indivisible Rockland and Indivisible Yorktown co-sponsored an action urging you to call your state reps and demand they push for NY4ALL. Last week, over 70 Indivisible chapters across New York State signed a letter to our elected officials urging them to keep pushing this legislation forward, and we were mentioned in Politico. But the fight isn't over. We still need you calling your reps, and if you can make it to the Albany rally, even better. All the details are in the events section below.

Can't make it to Albany? Make calls instead; your elected officials need to hear from you. The link to call instructions and scripts can be found HERE

Earth Day Candidate Forum 4/22 6:30-8:30 PM
Stony Point Center
17 Cricketown Rd, Stony Point NY

Indivisible Rockland is a proud co-sponsor of Food and Water Action's Earth Day Candidate Forum. Join us for an evening with the candidates running to represent NY-17.

The Trump administration is stripping away our rights to clean water, a safe climate, and affordable energy -- enabled by the Big Ugly Bill, legislation to fast-track oil and gas development, denial of the climate crisis, and promotion of expensive, dirty nuclear energy and data centers.

These actions will lead to higher energy costs for New Yorkers. We need elected leaders who will fight to lower energy bills by investing in renewable energy and saying no to data centers and fossil fuels.

Are these candidates up for the challenge? Find out this Earth Day at Stony Point Center.
